You could never accuse Mark Zuckerberg of lacking ambition. After having bought virtual reality headset marker Oculus VRfor the princely sum of $2bn, the firm has now announced plans to develop drones that could offer up web accessfrom above the clouds.

Turns out that Facebook's Connectivity Lab is going to be hard at work building drones, satellites and lasers to deliver the web to everyone, and that these plans are all part of its wider Internet.org initiative which aims to bring lower-cost web access to the world, particularly to emerging nations.

The solar-powered drones would apparently beam down the web to the world. It's a fantastic, and fantastical concept, we'll give it that Zuckerberg, we salute you.
